Employee Selection

 

Employee Selection involves the assessment and identification of candidates who best fit the position requirement and the organizational culture. The process involves strategies to assess job candidates efficiently, ensure fair treatment of employees, fair outcomes and predict the probability of success in their target role. The effective selection process can reduce time to hire, reduce a hiring manager’s effort, increase favorableness of employee and applicant perceptions of your organization and improve the quality of hires.

Course description

In this course, participants gain knowledge about the goals of high impact hiring systems and the tools and methods used in the hiring processes.  The course also builds an understanding of effective selection processes through case studies and examples.  It also builds skills in monitoring and evaluating the quality of a hiring process.

Course objectives

In this course, participants will build the capability to:

  • gather requirements of the target job
  • write a realistic job preview
  • support the design of a multiple-hurdle candidate screening process
  • support the administration of an employee selection system
  • assist in the selection of assessments for screening job candidates
  • monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the employee selection system

    Assessment: Each course includes an end of course assessment (quiz) and assignments to gauge learning and opportunity to practice the skills. To promote learning, participants receive feedback on right and wrong answers, as well as, guidance for reviewing the relevant sections of the course.

    Discussion Boards: All participants will have access to the community board on this topic.  The discussion boards can be used to post questions, start a new discussion or seek clarification from a mentor.

    Other Learning Activities: Participants will have access to games, flashcards, glossary, bibliography developed to engage with the content in a fun way and assist with learning.

    An interactive 2.5+ hour online course with case studies, assignment, tools, and activities.
    Access duration for one course is one month.  If purchased as part of a certification package, access duration is set by the package plan.
    Participants who complete the interactive lesson and pass the course quiz will earn a certificate of completion.
