Skills for the Brave New World of HR

What business wants from HR is not what HR is prepared to deliver. Historically, the HR function focused on delivering hygiene programs such as pay, benefits, and training. With increasing economic uncertainty, the people’s needs of businesses have changed. According to a recent Deloitte survey, the HR functions at best, earned a ‘C’ when it comes to delivering business impact. This session will report the results of a survey that will shed light on the sources of strife between HR and the business.  We will present a new model which enables HR to deliver a greater value to employees and their organization. Participants will become aware of five key skills to embrace the new brave world of HR.

    1. Become aware of the widely held perceptions of HR
    2. Recognize the signs of ineffective ways of addressing the people needs of the business
    3. Become aware of the new model for HR driven by the idea of an expert on human performance
